LIVESTUDIO - SMOKEY CHAPMAN

Back in January, musician Smokey Chapman became the first artist of 2010 to take over the soundsystem in the LiveStudio. Performing eight tracks from her forthcoming E.P, Smokey was joined by fellow London musicians from the Golden Silvers and Real Fur. The performance footage has now been edited, and all tracks are available to watch in the LiveStudio archive.

IN FASHION - MARY KATRANTZOU AND SAM MCKNIGHT LIVE
#########

The latest addition to our burgeoning In Fashion interview series, tomorrow Alexander Fury speaks to London designer Mary Katrantzou, the leading proponent of fashion's digi-print aesthetic revolution. As if that isn't enough, next Friday we will broadcast an exclusive one-on-one between esteemed journalist Tim Blanks and hairstylist Sam McKnight, the skilled hands behind many a fashion show's fringe benefits.

OBJECT FETISH
#########

Examining key pieces from next season's international collections, Object Fetish trains obsessive attention onto next season's not-so-obscure objects of desire - namely the choicest accessories from fashion's favourite names, metaphorically unpicked on film. Our first analysis of A/W 2010 encompasses Prada's woolen 'Sockings' and patent loafers.

BUNNY EARS, 2009
#########

Looking for the perfect thing to wear this Easter? Search no further -  art director and set designer Shona Heath’s Bunny Ears are just the ticket. Created for a portrait of Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz, the ears are more serious hare than playboy bunny. They are also this season's perfect egg-hiding accessory. So, go on, be a little 'egg-centric' and don a set of ears this weekend. Given how popular hats and hairpieces are this season, it’s sure to be all the rage.

With the Maison Martin Margiela '20' exhibition just around the corner at London's Somerset House, we look back to Margiela's first move into the UK back in 2004. Photographer Valerie Stahl Von Stromberg utilised the SHOWstudio.com picture phone to document the Margiela team's idiosyncratic 'sandwich board' campaign heralding the opening of the label's flagship - coincidentally into the very building we now occupy! Fashion really is a small world.

SHOWSTUDIO EDITIONS, 2001
#########

To commemorate the first year of SHOWstudio.com, in 2001 Nick Knight invited 19 contributors from the fields of fashion, music, art and design to contribute to a collection of limited-edition prints. The portfolio involved 19 innovative artists including the likes of David Chipperfield, Kate Moss, Juergen Teller, this week’s featured SHOWstudio.com guest Philip Treacy, and the late Alexander McQueen. With such a unique and ground-breaking variety of creatives crammed into one box, it comes as no surprise that of the original edition of 100 only 10 are still available.

With the Victoria and Albert Museum showcasing a clutch of the curios from Horace Walpole's Neo-Gothic pile Strawberry Hill, the time felt ripe (pardon the pun) to revisit Nick Knight's spectacular Masked Ball, staged at Strawberry Hill in 2006 to celebrate Knight's receipt of the prestigious Moët & Chandon Fashion Tribute. With galleries and archive video of the festivities, a profile of the venue itself and even a bunch of terribly fashionable confessions captured during the merriments, you can relive all the highlights as if you danced until dawn yourself!

Maison Martin Margiela '20' The Exhibition

It's often difficult to explain the appeal of Maison Martin Margiela to those outside of the fashion world. Maybe Margiela is the fashion equivalent of an insider's joke - the label-less label, unfinished detailing, deliberately cheap fabrics and extreme proportions, all seem a parody...
