In the run-up to the launch of SHOWstudio Editor-at-Large Lou Stoppard and academic Adam Murray's eponymous 'North' exhibition at the Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool on 6 January 2017, revisit the series on SHOWstudio now. — From the Archive — Revisit Claire Barrow's LiveStudio Claire Barrow Revisit the first LiveStudio of our 'Flora' season in 2012, featuring London-based designer Claire Barrow. Over the space of two days, 7 and 8 November, the Fashion East talent displayed her signature hand-painting technique by customising a bespoke leather jacket with an array of roses painted from life. Footage from the live broadcast has been edited into a beautiful film, documenting the entire process from Barrow's hand-painting to Nick Knight shooting the garment on the final day. — From the Archive — Gareth Pugh 'Insensate' Nick Knight, Gareth Pugh and Ruth Hogben Gareth Pugh's Autumn/Winter 2008 is conjured into a macabre phantasmagoria in Nick Knight and Ruth Hogben's fashion film, 'Insensate'. Utilising Pugh's twin cinematic inspirations of 'Predator' and 'The Wizard of Oz' as aesthetic starting-points, the film unfurls before your eyes like a sinister but beautiful bloom. Revisit this filmic showcase of the brutal geometry and raw creative fire of Pugh's collection to truly bewitching effect!

In our latest instalment, American model and actress Amber Valletta discusses shooting with photographer Richard Avedon. Referencing Avedon's S/S 96 campaign for Versace, Valletta reminisces about being given the freedom to be playful and sporty during the shoot.
