Nick Knight, Daphne Guinness and Iris van Herpen In 2013, Nick Knight and Daphne Guinness joined forces with the couturier Iris van Herpen to create a 'Crystallisation' dress during a live broadcast. Knight used high speed cameras to capture Guinness being splashed with black and clear water, and these images were used by van Herpen to create the one-of-a-kind dress. Combining traditional couture techniques and futuristic technology, she created a shape-shifting garment that Knight then captured in a photoshoot. Tune in to watch the London-based designer put the final touches to his creations - a sharp tailored jacket, a Merino bodysuit and matching gloves and a backpack-cum-veil. At the end of the day, Nick Knight will shoot the garments live on performance artist Kevin Le Grand Bailor - stay glued to your screen. — From the Archive — Transformer Alexander McQueen, Erin O'Connor, Bobby Gillespie and Katy England As we continue to showcase the full process and working methods of designers and creatives through our LiveStudios, take a look back at where it all began. 'Transformer', from 2002, saw Nick Knight invite friends and colleagues including Erin O'Connor, Alexander McQueen, Bobby Gillespie and Katy England, to devise and film an act of transformation that held personal significance to them. This was SHOWstudio's first fashion shoot to be broadcast live via webcam. — From the Archive — Petal Claire Barrow Flashback to when Claire Barrow took up residency in our studio. The London design customised a biker jacket with her signature hand-painted and flora-inspired designs, depicting roses and flowers from life. The jacket was created specifically for Faris Badwan, vocalist of British rock band The Horrors. Watch edited footage of the two-day livestream.

— Boy Meets World: Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY Charles Jeffrey and The Woolmark Company 'Boy Meets Wool', a LiveStudio broadcast featuring Charles Jeffrey begins today! Since its inception in 2000, SHOWstudio has invited a variety of designers and creators into our space to make garments live on camera - Gareth Pugh, Stephen Jones, Mary Katrantzou, Claire Barrow are just some of the names who have taken part. Jeffrey will be will be with us from 19 to 21 April. He will replicate his studio environment, inviting friends and collaborators, including writer and DJ Princess Julia, fashion critic Charlie Porter and academic and author Judith Watt, to join him for chats as he works. He'll also be taking question from you, our viewers. Jeffrey's regular collaborator, knitwear designer Tracey Turbitt-Lewis, will be assisting on the garment, and the final creation will be modelled by performance artist Kevin Le Grand Bailor in a live shoot. The Woolmark Company have teamed up with SHOWstudio for the first time to help provide Jeffrey with fabric expertise and special access to some of the UK's best mills. In our latest episode, Nick Knight interviews hairstylist Eugene Souleiman about working with Björk on the cover of her 2011 album, 'Biophilia', photographed by Inez and Vinoodh. His Spring/Summer 2016 film, The Photoshoot, comments on ever-changing views of beauty and fashion. 'I am fascinated how something that was 'cool' can fall out of favour within few seasons and be forgotten,' explains Avetisyan, adding that his S/S 16 'Best Hits' collection was dedicated to labels that are no longer relevant. — Fashion Film — Fashion Film Submissions Nick Knight As part of SHOWstudio's commitment to championing fashion film and the possibilities of showing clothing in movement, Nick Knight invites aspiring filmmakers from across the globe to submit their work to SHOWstudio, the home of fashion film. Move fast! — From the Archive — Unseen McQueen: Bellwether Nick Knight and Alexander McQueen SHOWstudio's 'Unseen McQueen' project celebrates Lee McQueen's legacy and the designer's long-running creative collaboration with Nick Knight. The pair began their relationship in 1996 and worked together continuously until McQueen's death in February 2010. In 2003, Nick Knight was commissioned by the CFDA to celebrate the growth and success of the Alexander McQueen label and Lee McQueen's CBE. A film of the designer illustrating a selection of his designs appeared on SHOWstudio at the time. Revisit the 'Bellwether' film to see recently edited and unseen footage of McQueen sketching looks from his A/W 03 'Scanners' and S/S 03 'Irere' shows.
