CURRENT UNTITLED | |||
Fashion Filmmaker Ruth Hogben collaborates with LOVE magazine's Senior Fashion Editor at Large Francesca Burns to create this enigmatically untitled short exclusively for SHOWstudio.com. Exploring the impressionistic qualities of Burns' selections from the Autumn/Winter 2009-10 collections, Hogben turns the lens on the tactile surface of fur in every incarnation, showcasing both garment and woman through an abstract study of texture and saturated colour. CURRENT Gareth Pugh Dress
On 20, 23 and 24 November, Gareth Pugh took up residency in the LiveStudio above SHOWstudio SHOP to make a one-off dress, with every cut, stitch and slash streamed live on site. A product of three laboured days, the garment both embodies Gareth's distinctive style, but is entirely unique due to the very particular -and very public - nature in which it was conceived. If you missed our live broadcast, an edit of the footage will be available shortly - and the one-off dress itself will be retailed through SHOWstudio SHOP as part of our special Christmas installation to be unveiled on Tuesday 1 December. CURRENT Raw Power
The deliberation and consideration are over! We are thrilled to reveal the winner of our monumental Alexander McQueen PUMA Raw Power competition, judged by Nick Knight and Alexander McQueen, is TIGERSPRUNG, a film short from Sean Capone of New York City! Go to our RAW POWER submissions gallery to view Sean Capone's award-winning entry and our full list of runners-up, selected from the wealth of fantastic entries, will be published on the site shortly. COMING UP Live Studio
Jason Evans throws caution to the wind tomorrow, surrendering to chance in his latest menswear shoot for POP Magazine staged at the SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution Live Studio at Somerset House - selecting (non)models from our interactive Casting booth, dressing them via a body-part dice, and directing with instructions literally drawn from a hat. The final twist? The shoot is inverted, shot against the two-way mirror to give exhibition-goers a model's eye view of proceedings. In a back-to-back fashion extravaganza, on Monday Alice Hawkins will take possession of the Live Studio for her own idiosyncratic Christmas shoot: her friends and their newborn babies, coiffed, made-up and styled in the best of Spring Chanel, Prada, Dior and Vivienne Westwood. COMING UP 100 Portraits
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of i-D magazine in 2010, Nick Knight is shooting 100 Portraits of London's Beau Monde - artists, writers, musicians and designers - as modern counterpart to the portrait series commissioned in 1985 for the magazine's 5th anniversary. Nick Knight will shoot around the clock in the Fashion Revolution Live Studio every day from 1 - 20 December, inviting you to witness every subject, every photograph and every day. Photographs from each day will be showcased in a gallery adjacent to the Live Studio and published in i-D magazine next year.
Check the SHOWstudio BLOG and twitter feed as the subjects - the beautiful, the famous and the fabulous - are revealed.
