COLLECTIONS
It's that time of year again, and Fashion Director Alex Fury is jetting off to view the latest Italian offerings for men's S/S 2011 wardrobes. Starting today, he will be reporting from Pitti Immagine Uomo 78 in Florence from all the fun of the fair, including the inaugural menswear offering from esteemed talent Haider Ackermann and the latest S/S 2011 collection from Raf Simons for Jil Sander. From Saturday he'll be reporting live from the big league likes of Versace, Prada and Armani in Milano, while Hywel Davies will be keeping us up to date from the Paris runways next week.

LIVESTUDIO - CARSON MCCOLL
#########
This week, the LiveStudio at Bruton Place features a one-off performance from artist, poet and musician Carson McColl. Tune in on Thursday 17 June 2010 at 13:00 BST for the streaming of McColl's raw and confrontational piece exploring the concept of black and white, and addressing the regaining of his visual self in the absence of light. Be warned, Carson’s dramatic, provocative LiveStudio session may not be for the faint-hearted.

GWENDOLINE
#########
Last week, photographer and filmmaker Jez Tozer took up residence in our studio with actress Gwendoline Christie to create a video short to celebrate the launch of Bistrotheque’s newest venture, Studio East Dining. Designed by architect Carmody Groarke, the pop-up restaurant sits on the roof of a construction site in Westfield Stratford City – what will later become Europe’s largest shopping mall. Gwendoline dined on a selection of Studio East Dining’s menu, courtesy of Tom Collins, while dressed in the hottest names in London fashion including Gareth Pugh, Giles and Nicolas Kirkwood. Skillfully woven with time-lapse footage of the restaurant's construction, Tozer's film is a mouthwatering fusion of food and fashion - an appetiser, if you will, of the public opening of the restaurant today. OBJECT FETISH
#########
The first apparel piece to be included in our Object Fetish collection hails from the A/W 2010 show of Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci - the graphic, geometric sweater, inspired by the seemingly paradoxical sources of alpine and aquatic sports. Opposites, it seems, do attract - a key piece from next season's collections, Tisci's coveted, custom-made piece somehow manages to fuse fashion's current fascinations with the Minimal and Maximal into a single and singular garment. Ripe for analysis, we think. [more]

JUDY BLAME
#########
Crafted during his whirlwind one-day residency in the LiveStudio last week, Judy Blame's idiosyncratic monochromatic creations now grace the SHOWstudio Shop. Always one to epitomise the longstanding visual relationship between black and white, Blame’s two one-off pieces are no exception. Adorned and hand stitched with a multitude of pearly buttons, safety pins and a plethora of haberdashery elements, Blame’s customised tribal titter and neckpiece engulf the wearer in a mass of ornamental grandeur from around the globe. PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO 72
#########
The latest Pitti Immagine Uomo kicks off today, and the time seems apt to cast our mind back to Hywel Davies' coverage of Pitti Uomo 72 in 2007, viewing the S/S 2008 menswear collections and blogging live from the fantastic events happening at the trade show. Diesel took centre stage with an aquatic-inspired Liquid Space runway extravaganza and Puma celebrated the launch of its Black Label, while New Beat(s) presented the best of fashion’s new talent. SNOW WHITE
It may be the height of summer (or as close as dear old blighty gets) but we're in a decidedly wintry mood on set with Nick Knight, Edward Enninful and Naomi Campbell shooting a story for this autumn's issue of i-D magazine. 'Snow White' is our theme - we've rails of arctic-white garments from pretty much every fashion house under the sun, and Sam McKnight has concocted a wig fit for a snow queen... [more]
