OBJECT FETISH 2011
Examining key pieces from the international collections for 2011, Object Fetish trains obsessive attention onto fashion's latest not-so-obscure objects of desire. Metaphorically unpicking a key piece from a key collection, the latest instalment focuses on Riccardo Tisci's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection for Givenchy - namely on the pin-up emblazoned satin and velvet sweatshirts that were the leitmotif of Tisci's sports-couture chic. The second instalment of our object analysis series showcases this fashion objet d'art through text by SHOWstudio Fashion Director Alexander Fury and a fashion film created by Nick Knight, with Raquel Zimmermann modelling in the luxurious confines of Selfridges department store set to an specially-created soundtrack by Frederic Sanchez.

MONSTER BALL
As part of her Monster Ball world tour in 2009, Lady Gaga asked Nick Knight and Ruth Hogben to create a number of films to use as part of her on-stage performance and as interludes in the epic show. Building film into the architectonic feeling of the Monster Ball tour, these films explore notions of fame, iconicism and life in an evolving metropolis, unveiled each night on stage during Gaga's truly monster 201-date tour.
The first four Monster Ball films are now live on site - stay tuned to SHOWstudio for the next instalment, as more films from Lady Gaga's Monster Ball will be released very soon.

MENU, 2009
Menu, an artistic portrayal of poured coffee on paper, depicts a captured memory of sight through the representation of a café menu. Stephen Lapthisophon, a practising artist who is legally blind, uses his work to over-emphasise the sense of sight in aesthetic culture. By accumulating and collecting layers of meaning and associations, Lapthisophon provides a visualisation of his personal interpretations. His blindness is used as figure for the ways in which we see the world through our own specific framing mechanisms. Combining coffee with more traditional art mediums such as ink and gesso, the artist is able to examine the interaction of our internal sensory processes.
