— Fashion Fetish Film Dasha Zhukova This week's 'Fashion Fetish' film is a twenties-style silent vignette directed by founder of Garage magazine Dasha Zhukova. 'Once upon a dress' stars Chloë Sevigny as a lonely insecure girl whose gaze sets upon a dress (Prada, of course) that transports her to a land of confidence, glamour and love. Derek Blasberg plays her dream beau in this simple reminder of the ability clothes have to empower individuals. In Zhukova's interpretation, 'I think obsession with fashion looms prominently in the everyday – and our fetishes in relation to it are just as habitual as they are sexual.' — Tumblr — Guest Curator Felice Fawn Taking over SHOWstudio's Tumblr this week starting Sunday 1 July is English-born artist and blogger Felice Fawn. A normally chaotic scene is stratified and ordered through Morgan's rigorous handling. Drawing specifically on the flies' intimate relationship with death and their crucial role in regeneration, Morgan reminds us of the futility of attempts to harness and control it. Now on view at SHOWstudio Shop, the puzzle-like sculpture forces contemplation.

— Death The Gao Brothers, Nick Knight and Claire Morgan SHOWstudio Shop opens its doors tomorrow to unveil its latest exhibition 'Death.' The show centres around the Gao Brothers' highly politicised bronze sculpture, 'The Execution of Christ' which depicts a firing squad of larger-than-life Chairman Maos taking aim at a figure of Jesus. Previously unseen in Europe, the work will be showcased alongside Claire Morgan's macabre mobile 'Heart of Darkness' which consists of over 3,000 bluebottles and a new work by Nick Knight which sees him venture into sculpture with a beautiful rendering of Kate Moss in solid wax. The exhibition is open from Friday 22 June and runs until 31 August at SHOWstudio Shop, 1-9 Bruton Place, London. — Fashion Film — Fashion Fetish Luci Schroder Up-and-coming director Luci Schroder contributes 'Love is a State of Mind', the latest film in our 'Fashion Fetish' series. A grandiose, life size, bronze sculpture, it is a vivid demonstration of art's capacity to provoke political debate, first referencing Mao's oppression of organised religion, in particular Christianity, as well as the Gao Brothers' own experience of the persecution and eventual loss of their father during the Cultural Revolution.
