— Punk: DIY Winners annoucement Earlier this year, SHOWstudio launched a major fashion film and animation competition to celebrate our current theme of 'Punk'. We asked fashion filmmakers and animators to submit a piece featuring a one-off, specially-created garment that had been crafted in the spirit of DIY. The competition closed on 10 June 2013 and, after weeks of deliberating, we're announcing our winners. Up first is Finnish animator Jenny Jokela. Stay tuned for details of the other five winners. — Interview — Punk: On the Runway Richard Mortimer Ponystep's Richard Mortimer rang up Lou Stoppard to reveal what he really thinks of high fashion's love affair with punk aesthetics. 'It is a bizarre concept that people celebrate the punk movement in their collection, but then actually those pieces are two thousand pounds and no kid with any kind of punk spirit is going to be able to buy those clothes,' he explains. Stay tuned for upcoming interviews with Shortlist's Adrian Clark and Matches' Simon Chilvers. — Fashion film season — Punk Miguel Adrover Designer Miguel Adrover had an upfront and in-your-face take on our new 'Punk' season. The self-taught designer is well-known for sticking two fingers up at the establishment. He is, after all, the man that fabricated a formal Victorian-style overcoat from the soiled and discarded mattress of the late Quentin Crisp. His 'Punk' submission is equally as punchy - enjoy! — Tumblr — Guest Curator Erica Schreiner Yesterday, 7 August, Erica Schreiner completed her week-long curation of the SHOWstudio Tumblr. The video and performance artist filled the page with inspiring imagery, from video stills to moving image clips, whilst exploring themes of death, struggle and refection.
