The Independent fashion editor and creative director discuss and interact with the garments used in Nick Knight's shoot - including pieces by Chanel, Dior and Valentino - musing on the historical significance of the craft, the women who wear couture and the women who make it. — Music Video — Vultures Vaults and Rei Nadal SHOWstudio is proud to premiere the new music video from London-based trio Vaults. 'Vultures', directed by Rei Nadal, is an otherworldly vision featuring insects, eyeballs and angel wings all set to the haunting strains of Vault's dark lullaby. Complete with styling by Ellie Grace Cumming and compelling choreography by Aaron Sillis, the video embodies Nadal's signature use of romantic and unsettling imagery in constant juxtaposition. — Interview — Subjective Alek Wek As part of our rolling model interview series, Alek Wek speaks to Nick Knight about her family and walking the runway for Victoria's Secret. The Sudanese model explains, 'It's a meaningful career I got to realise for myself, it's not something that I have to do just because it's going to pay my bills. It's way beyond that... I think I showed them that Dinka Dinka women can be beautiful as well.' The editorial and fashion film offer startlingly ethereal images of model and physics scholar Alexia Wight alongside 3D scans or 'texture maps', revealing the incredible detail of S/S 14 garments by Margiela, Dior, and more.
