— North: Identity, Photography, Fashion Adam Murray and Lou Stoppard Co-curated by SHOWstudio Editor-at-Large Lou Stoppard and academic Adam Murray, 'North: Identity, Photography, Fashion' launched this evening at the Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool! An exploration into the influence of the North of England on fashion and visual culture, the show features work by industry greats such as Nick Knight, Corinne Day, David Sims, Raf Simons, Virgil Abloh, Christopher Shannon and Stephen Jones. Explore visual interviews and essays that examine the depiction of Northern identity within fashion in our corresponding project, 'North'. — From the Archive — North Thom Murphy and Gary Aspden To coincide with the launch of 'North: Identity, Photography, Fashion' at the Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool, we have launched two brand new interviews on SHOWstudio! Stylist Thom Murphy talks with Lou Stoppard, describing the evolution of the club scene in the North of England and his subsequent trajectory into fashion, citing cult fashion labels and acid house club culture. Stoppard also talks to brand consultant and self-proclaimed trainer obsessive Gary Aspden about his early teenage years and sportswear as a symbol of aspiration. — Tumblr — Tumblr take-over Adam Murray Co-curator of 'North: Identity, Photography, Fashion' Adam Murray has been posting insights into the curatorial and installation process on SHOWstudio's Tumblr. The Tumblr take-over showcases a variety of research imagery, magazine scans and fashion invitations that contributed to the creation of the exhibition.
