Is YSL a religion? Ask Stefano Pilati, whose centrepiece accessory for his A/W 2010 Yves Saint Laurent collection resembled nothing less than a nun's rosary swinging an iconic golden totem of YSL silhouette past. A prime object for the label's legions of devotees to fetishise, this necklace becomes our third addition of the season to our Object Fetish series, delving past surface meaning and into new realms of fashion analysis.

Inspired by the oldest dichotomy in the fashion book, the contrast between black and white, the latest exhibition at SHOWstudio Shop opened to a packed, and colourful, crowd last weekend. Fashion photography is, of course, a focal point - Irving Penn's celebrated portrait of his wife in a harlequin dress bounces against images Cecil Beaton captured of Audrey Hepburn in his monochrome My Fair Lady number, itself contrasting with Nick Knight's underexposed and oversized image of Kate Moss. As you might image, all this monochromatic-ness reverberates. So come down to the Bruton Place HQ and add a little colour to our lives.

The exhibition American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity launched at the Metropolitan Museum in New York last week with the traditional glossy gala opening. But cut through the creme de la creme of guests at the Wintour-led Costume Institute Gala and revealed is a different sort of woman influencing definitions of beauty today, deep in the heart of the American underbelly - the tanned and typified girls inhabiting strip clubs strewn across each of the United States. This week's piece from the archive sees peroxide-blonde photographer Alice Hawkins' lens focuses on the boom and busts of these American women in a photo series from Sin City itself.
