CURRENT MIRROR MIRROR | |
To celebrate the launch of high-street behemoth Topshop's new beauty range, SHOWstudio.com have installed a giant interactive mirror in Topshop's Oxford Circus, taking shoppers' reflections right into the hands of fashion's leading creatives. For the next five days, the interactive display will flash sartorial advice across the mirror's surface - today has already seen make-up supremo Hannah Murray and the team of i-D magazine dispense their thoughts, followed this afternoon by Grazia's fashion fiends and Lady Gaga's stylist Nicola Formichetti at 17:00.

CURRENT OBJECT FETISH | |

![]() When is a box not a box? When it's a bag - specifically when it's a bag from Maison Martin Margiela, the home of deconstruction, reconstruction and in this case a truly magpie lust for re-appropriation. Filching a cardboard box from their own shop stock and reworking into a luxury pochette (with price-tag to match), Margiela's startling and humorous creation is the second subject to fall under the obsessive gaze of our Object Fetish camera for A/W 2010.

FROM THE ARCHIVE PICTURE/MESSAGE: Poser
![]() | |
![]() Frankly, our thoughts are fixated on mirrors at the moment - and with the fashion fraternity behind the mirror this time, we couldn't help but remember their own turn in the spotlight courtesy of David Weightman's Poser project. Weightman turned his attention from the catwalk to the audience at the S/S 2004 Paris collections, armed with a cameraphone mounted behind two-way mirror to capture the startled, bemused and occasionally befuddled front row as they went about their stylish business. Gareth Pugh A/W 2010 - Look 3 ![]() Gareth's and Ruth's vision of thirties Hollywood continues to delve into darker, more macabre and distinctly more fetishistic places. Raquel has shed the modest leather coat in favour of a braces and slacks combo, finished with a pair of elbow length leather gloves and smouldering cigarette hanging from scarlet stained lips. Think Marlene Dietrich at her most seductive and you're somewhere near the right lines. [more]
Gareth Pugh A/W 2010 - Look 2 ![]()
Gareth's chevron-quilted mid-calf length coat takes centre stage for look 2 of today's shoot. The architectonic aesthetic is still going strong as Raquel expertly moves in her leather armour to create stark shapes and structural silhouettes. [more]
