— Make Up Your Mind Nick Knight, Ruth Hogben and Alexander Fury Visit our archive for landmark fashion films by Nick Knight and our range of contributors. Here, Knight and Ruth Hogben unite to create a surreal fashion film featuring Maison Margiela's Spring 2009 'Wig-Coat'. The film depicts the 'Wig-Coat' moving in a perpetual, oddly seductive motion. Side-by-side with the fashion film stands an essay by Alexander Fury, which discusses the strangeness contained in every beauty ideal. — Project — Hair Lou Stoppard and Central Saint Martins Inspired by the predominance of fluff and fuzz on the runways, as well as the debates around body hair as a style or political statement, in early 2016, SHOWstudio editor Lou Stoppard asked groups of Central Saint Martins students to pitch and create different series based on the theme of hair. Revisit the project and find out who is upturning traditional ideas of beauty in the beautifully crafted film 'Beyond the Glass.' — From the Archive — The Fashion Body Nick Knight, Ruth Hogben, Sam McKnight and more For SHOWstudio's 2010 series, 'The Fashion Body', over thirty fashion creatives were asked to contribute a personal and distinctive fashion film. Each work focused on a different area of the human body, using fashion items from the 2009-10 fashion season. This week's highlight, in light of our latest 'Hair' project, is hair-stylist Sam McKnight's fashion film 'Hair', which showcases animated neon hair amongst black space. — Interviews — Transformative Nick Knight, Eugene Souleiman and Steven Meisel In tandem with our 'Subjective' series, which presents the history of contemporary fashion photography as told from models' perspectives, 'Transformative' is a series of interviews with stylists, make-up artists and hairdressers. In our latest episode, Nick Knight interviews hairstylist Eugene Souleiman who candidly recalls working with Devon Aoki and Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia in 1999.
