— Art and Fashion Forum Nick Knight, Lou Stoppard, Oriole Cullen and more This weekend, 28 to 30 October, SHOWstudio will be moderating two creative panel discussions in Poznań, Poland as part of the 10th Anniversary of Art and Fashion Forum by Grażyna Kulczyk. The team will be heading to Poland with a selection of SHOWstudio contributors, including curator Oriole Cullen and milliner Stephen Jones, to participate in two debates; one on fashion and one on art. The theme of the event is 'Different = Irreplaceable'. Videos of the debates will be available on SHOWstudio, providing a global online reach for the first time in Art and Fashion Forum's history. Plus, explore behind-the-scenes during the event via Periscope. — Project — Hospital Rooms Niamh White and Tim A Shaw Founded by artist Tim A Shaw and SHOWstudio alumnus and curator Niamh White, Hospital Rooms is a registered charity promoting the improved wellbeing of mental health service users through the curation of top quality art and design in hospital environments. Interviews with artists such as Nick Knight and Gavin Turk, who have contributed their work as part of the refurbishment of The Phoenix Unit, can be found on SHOWstudio. 'We want to be leading the way towards changing the way mental health is viewed and we feel that artists have a wonderful ability to do that,' explains White in her interview with SHOWstudio Editor-at-Large Lou Stoppard. — From the Archive — Transformative Sam McKnight Sam McKnight, hair stylist to the stars, has been instrumental in the creation of some of the most iconic images in fashion. From Madonna's 'Bedtime Stories' album cover, to Princess Diana's crop on the cover of British Vogue in 1991, McKnight's work is crucial in contextualising the role of the stylist within fashion. Our 'Transformative' series highlights the importance of those working behind-the-scenes and features a number of interviews with McKnight. Revisit the series in anticipation of 'Hair by Sam McKnight', the upcoming exhibition at Somerset House, to hear McKnight speak candidly about his experiences working with the likes of Patrick Demarchelier, Irving Penn and Karl Lagerfeld.

Exposing and exploring Bourdin's grasp of the moving image, this legacy of cinefilms is a stellar example of how a photographer's aesthetic translates to fashion film. — Interviews — North Gareth Pugh and Lou Stoppard Our 'North' project explores the various ways the North of England has been portrayed and stereotyped in media and fashion, pondering whether the place where someone has grown up influences their aesthetic. In the latest instalment, Lou Stoppard interviews Gareth Pugh, discussing his upbringing in Sunderland, the monuments in his hometown that hold a particular nostalgic importance to him and what the North fundamentally means to Pugh as a designer.

To celebrate the opening of 'Savage Beauty' at the V&A, SHOWstudio unearthed unseen video of some of his celebrated sessions with the late Alexander McQueen. Choreographed by Michael Clark and featuring McQueen's dance inspired S/S 04 'Deliverance' collection, the 'Blade of Light' image has become one of Knight's most recognised works. Edited from over an hour of footage, this short film of Walker sheds light on the early influences on his career and his hopes for his photographic legacy. — Exhibition — Nick Knight: Image Nick Knight Nick Knight's first solo exhibition at the Daelim Museum in Seoul, Korea opened to the public earlier this month.
