Van Noten discussed his efforts to maintain his craft sustainably, creating collections slowly as opposed to constantly churning out garments. 'I start with a character or narrative' she says. 'I start with the casting, with an imaginary character and then I cast somebody who I feel will fit that, who I feel with be able to portray that.'
