The film, entitled 'Xiu Long', examines the journey of Taiwan's culture collisions, using flashing lights and animal iconography inherent in contemporary Orientalism. Born in Taiwan and educated in London, Hsieh's work further highlights the global range of fashion films currently being submitted to SHOWstudio. From 29 to 30 October, as part of the 10th Anniversary of Art and Fashion Forum by Grażyna Kulczyk, SHOWstudio flew to Poland to moderate two panels. The event, called 'Different = Irreplaceable' featured a fashion discussion hosted by Editor-at-Large Lou Stoppard entitled 'Fashion Beyond The Body' and an art panel entitled 'Memento Mori in Contemporary Art' hosted by Carrie Scott, director of the Nick Knight Archive. The event brought together experts in both industries including milliner Stephen Jones, curator Oriole Cullen and artists Hugo Wilson and Claire Morgan. Watch the debates unfold on SHOWstudio now! — Fashion Film — Outlaw Film 2 Maksim Bashkaev and Dilyara Minrakhmanova On 3 February 2016, Maksim Bashkaev from Moscow, Russia won the first Fashion Film Award with his film, 'Outlaw'. As part of his subsequent prize, Bashkaev and his partner Dilyara Minrakhmanova created 'Outlaw Film 2', a look into the unexplored life of 'the outlaw people' of Moscow, focusing on controversial people who take an alternative route, combining the mixed cultural patterns of Empire and Soviet eras. Explore the project to see both of Bashkaev and Minrakhmanova's films, Bashkaev's memorable acceptance speech, and the panel discussion that took place at the awards ceremony, featuring Nick Knight, Dan Thawley, Gareth Pugh and Nathalie Khan.
