— Hospital Rooms Nick Knight, Aimee Parrott, Gavin Turk and more Hospital Rooms is a registered charity founded in 2016 with the intention of promoting the improved wellbeing of mental health service users. In the latest instalment in our 'Hospital Rooms' project, artist Aimee Parrott discusses her role in the refurbishment of the women's space at The Phoenix Unit, Springfield University Hospital. Alongside artists including Nick Knight and Gavin Turk, Parrott curated an area of the secure rehabilitation ward with original artwork. Support for those with mental health issues is something that all of us at SHOWstudio care about deeply, so we are proud to support the work of Hospital Rooms. Learn more about the artists involved on SHOWstudio. — From the Archive — Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore Isabella Blow In 2013, SHOWstudio honoured the extraordinary life and wardrobe of the late fashion editor Isabella Blow with a multidisciplinary project featuring a fashion film by Ruth Hogben, editorial images by Nick Knight, interviews and essays. A range of experts, including psychiatrist Simon Kyaga and Alexander Fury, unpick and explore different themes pertaining to Blow's remarkable life, from the relationship between mental illness and creativity, to the role of the 'muse'. — From the Archive — Unseen McQueen Nick Knight and Alexander McQueen SHOWstudio's 'Unseen McQueen' series celebrates the life and work of the late designer, Alexander McQueen. Showcasing hidden gems from Nick Knight's archive, including interviews, imagery and process footage, the series highlights Knight's longterm working relationship with McQueen. Key segments of McQueen footage have been made public, notably 'The Cell', footage from Knight and McQueen's 1999 shoot for Talk magazine. The film sees McQueen hung from chains in a padded cell, the shoot's dark theme reflecting McQueen's unhappiness at Givenchy.
